About this design
The Simple Star is worked in single crochet, one row at a time, so every square on the chart is one stitch. Its long straight edges and stepped points make it a good second chart after the heart: the colour changes come at predictable places, and a mistake is easy to spot against the white ground.
Two colours keep it tidy. Gold on white is bright and festive; navy and gold gives a night-sky feel, and red and white suits a Lone Star or sports-team piece.
If you would rather work it corner to corner, open it in Bobble and switch the method to C2C before you start. If you have not followed a chart before, read our chart guide first.
